Release notes:
– 4D Trajectory capabilities has been expanded in two domains. First, RAMS Plus can load and use EUROCONTROL BADA 4 performance data, where trajectories and fuelburn are computed by altitude and weight. BADA 4 data can be applied in the same scenario with the existing performance data (using just altitude and not weight), as defined by the individual flight aircraft model assignment. Secondly, RAMS Plus can compute 4D trajectories very quickly in batch mode without the need to simulate, with the benefits of quantifying sector flight hours and sector density characteristics, as well as providing 4D trajectories to 3rd party tools.
– The Point Merge arrival metering concept has been greatly enhanced and optimised, with the benefits to easily create the point merge area graphically, and using optimised calculations and speed metering to quickly compute the point merge trajectory based on runway and terminal area flow demand.
– Graphical capabilities have been expanded to include coloring flights by altitude, as well as changing the color of flights during the simulation based on flight attributes. The ability to define a flight’s color based on the flight attributes has always been available within the editor, where the benefit of this feature is that it can be quickly performed during the simulation animation.
– Loading and simulating externally produced 4D trajectories has been expanded to include options for UTC time, airport city-pair matching, interpolating data point gaps, and refining the speed at high altitudes (to reduce variance in decimal time differences which can vary the speed by ±7nm/hr.)
